MY SEARCH STRATEGY

1-I phrased my title as a question : Does DNA vaccination induce immunity against toxoplasmosis in murine model
2-I broke it into concepts(pico):
P:Mice
I:DNA vaccine encoding SAG1 antigen
C:The same plasmid without the SAG codon
O:Immunity against toxoplasmosis
3-I searched DNA vaccination and it's synonym DNA immunization with OR program and combined it with toxoplasmosis with AND program.
4-Finally I refined my search results by limiting them by year,publication type(systematic reviews)and language(english)
5-I also used MESH headings while I connected to the internet via ENDNOTE program

END NOTE

End note is a software that provides us some facilities in the process of writing a paper.
1- It creates a reference library(jabe fish) for us to put the references or records(fishe kham) inside(an individual information bank).
2-It creates a new reference ,in order to write the title author year journal name and abstracts of papers on them.
3-It provides us a pen to write with.(to write new records or also edit previous records)
4-It provides us a BROWSER to brows the internet pages for paper abstracts.
5-It provides us a search engine for searcging the internet pages for abstracts.
6-It helps us to retrive abstracts in great amounts and to copy them in our individual information bank(reference library).
7-It provides us a software whith which we can manage our info bank(library). It means we can "sort" abstracts in some different ways for exp date ,author,....(number of sorting depend on the number of subject types that we filled out in reference page)and search by that sorting."search" inside library and "group" the records.
8- It is a help editor that helps the main editor(MS WORD) and facilitates reference writing in the process of of writing a paper.

searching for literature(salford university)

Information skills are necessary for us to carry out our dissertation . We have to learn how to search for literature in various databases . This seven steps will help us for an efficient & effective search.
STEP ONE
We have to clarify the search question very well.Vaguness & being too complicated can lead to uneffective search. One method which help us is to phrase our topic as a question.
STEP TWO
We have to break the question down into distinct conceptswhich are called building blocks in the search strategy. We should avoid using ambigious words by substituting them with effective words or phrases.
STEP THREE
We can search by index termswhich are key words that describe the subject of a literature in the best way.But in this way we may miss some articles or retrieve some irrelevant articles.
STEP FOUR
Text word searching means that you use a term that describesthe concept you are interested in ,to search for it's existence in either the title or abstract field of the database record.Truncation allows us to search for words beginning with the same stem using a pre-designated symbol.$ or *.Wild cards allows us to search for words which have alternative spellings, and can be particularly useful to obtain articles with either english or american spelling.
STEP FIVE
In order to combine different concepts of our search question we can use boolean operators which are logical operators enabling us to broaden or restrict a search. The main logical operators are"OR" and "AND".
STEP SIX
In order to further reduce the number of articles retrieved or restrict our results to certain type of methodology or types of patients we have two ways.the first is to add another concept to our search strategy and the second is to use the limit function by age, year, language or publication type.
STEP SEVEN
Saving our search strategyin order to return it at a later time.
